Patti

2014

My sweet Patti girl left my side January 8th, 2014 at 2:08PM. She was 16 1/2 years old. It doesn't seem real and I keep thinking she will walk into the room and sit beside me.

I can't begin to tell you how heartbroken and empty I feel. I have only felt this bad once, when my Mom passed, 20 years ago.

Patti was my very best friend-ever, and truly the love of my life! She was perfect. Always a lady, with a kind and gentle, and generous soul. She had an amazing zest for life, and did everything with passion.

She came to this world with a lot of knowledge, and over our 12 1/2 years together taught me a lot. My sweet Patti dog helped me be a better person. I learned so much from her....and she loved to teach me.

She was a lady who knew her own mind and was ready to argue for what she believed to be right, from standing on the front steps telling other dogs to get off her street, to chasing crows off her land, or telling me it was her dinner time. She had an amazing and accurate built in clock.

She loved her food and started each day with her game of "sniff" and ended it with two cookies in bed. Her dinner was always a hot balanced meal, of the best quality. Patti loved her cuddle time and could rival any cuddle bug. On a cool winter morning, around 5 AM, she would love to crawl under the covers, snuggle up to me, let out a sigh, and go to sleep. I loved that and I miss that so much! She had one very special friend and whenever he would come by she insisted he sit down so she could cuddle up beside him.

She loved her walks and would get more out of a walk than any dog or human I know. Patti always made time to smell the flowers and bushes. She especially liked heather and she would smell every part of it. If I was in a hurry she would plant her feet to remind me it was more important to take note of and pay attention to what was around us, and appreciate the moment.

She taught me about the importance of slowing down, paying attention, letting things go, and appreciating a simpler life.

When she couldn't jump down, I made her a ramp to the patio. "Scooter", as someone called her when she did this, always looked so darn cute sliding down her ramp to the back garden.

There are so many things I love about Patti - so many things I will long for, forever.

Patti touched a lot of hearts and has many friends here, in the US, Australia, England, Turkey, and Malta.

Patti passed, in my arms, with the utmost gentleness, surrounded by much love.

I will always love my sweet Patti, with all my heart.
